For parents & guardians
You want your child to enjoy being active — and to feel good about where they train, who teaches them and what they’re learning.
Perhaps your child hangs back when something is unfamiliar. Perhaps they have plenty of energy but haven’t found an activity they enjoy. Or perhaps you’re simply looking for a constructive alternative to another evening spent on a screen.
Start with the questions that matter to your family. Learn about the class, understand what is involved, and see whether REVO could be the right place for your child to begin.

Make room in the week for an activity your child takes part in — not just watches. Explore a different way to spend that time together.
REVO’s kids’ program emphasizes respect, focus and age-appropriate self-defence. Ask how those priorities are put into practice in class.
School, work, dinner and other activities all need a place in the week. Check the program’s schedule before choosing your next step.
Ask about age suitability, equipment, membership options and the introductory class. A useful conversation should leave you with clearer answers — not more pressure.

No. REVO’s Kids Gi Jiu-Jitsu program welcomes beginners. Let us know that this would be your child’s first class so we can discuss the appropriate starting point and explain what to expect.
You don’t have to pretend they’re excited when they’re unsure. Let our team know before the visit and ask how new children are introduced to the class.
An introductory visit is an opportunity to learn about the environment and discuss whether it feels appropriate for your child.
REVO’s kids’ instruction is structured and age-appropriate. Jiu-Jitsu involves physical contact, so no class is completely risk-free.
Ask how the class handles supervision, training partners, contact and stopping an exercise. Discuss any individual participation or access concerns privately with the team before booking.
REVO’s Kids Gi program includes confidence, respect and self-defence among its aims. However, no class can guarantee that bullying will stop or that a child can handle every confrontation.
If your child is being bullied, involve their school and other appropriate supports. The responsibility for addressing bullying shouldn’t be placed on the child alone.
Ask our team what is required for the introductory class and for ongoing training. Confirm whether a uniform or other equipment must be purchased, whether anything is supplied, and what those costs are before making a purchase.
Ask us about the current membership options, what is included and any separate equipment or registration costs. You can also ask about a free Kids Gi Jiu-Jitsu class.
Kids Gi Jiu-Jitsu runs Monday and Wednesday, 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Please confirm the current timetable and the appropriate class before attending.
